Refract redesigned Managed’s renter onboarding and created a new overview dashboard, simplified the wallet experience, and evolved the design system. We then carried the same clarity into EDMs and a renter guide to keep comms and product perfectly in sync.
With a refreshed brand in place, Managed wanted the in-product experience – especially renter onboarding and wallet – to feel just as crisp. The brief: reduce friction at first use, give renters a clear “at-a-glance” home, align the interface to the new identity and extend that clarity into lifecycle communications.
- Renter onboarding – redesigned: A guided, step-based flow with clear progress, helper microcopy and sensible defaults – reducing back-and-forth and setting renters up correctly from day one.
- Overview dashboard: A renter-centred snapshot for balances, upcoming payments, recent activity, documents and quick actions, so essentials are visible in seconds.
- Wallet experience: Simplified top-ups and payouts, clearer transaction states and timelines, stronger empty/error states, and copy that demystifies “what happens next.”
- Design system uplift: Audited existing UI, introduced tokens for colour/type/spacing aligned to the new brand, added accessible form/table patterns and built the foundations for the broader platform refresh.
- Lifecycle comms: Modular EDM templates and a plain-language Renter Guide that mirror the product UI, keeping guidance consistent across email and app.
